Winter Wheat Response to Different Fungicide Management (Products and Timing of Application) During the 2019-2020 Growing Season

Foliar fungicides can improve wheat grain yield in Kansas, but there is limited information on the efficacy of different products as well timing application. We conducted a field study five Kansas locations to evaluate yield, test weight, and protein responses WB-Grainfield commercial applied at times during growing season. The trial was randomized complete block design (1) non-treated control; Topguard 5 ounces per acre (2) jointing, (3) heading, (4) jointing plus heading; (5) Delaro 6 oz/a jointing; (6) Absolute Maxx (7) heading rates previously specified; (8) Nexicor 13 heading. near Conway Springs, Great Bend, two sites Hutchinson (optimum- late-sowing date), Leoti. Grain across ranged from 36 72.9 bushels acre. A significant fungicide by location interaction resulted showing no response fungicide; resulting highest when presented evaluated treatment; one all treatments outyielding control. Similar results were obtained for where seemed benefit weight except driest one. There consistent effects foliar management concentration. This research an initial step determining benefits winter date, preliminary conclusion highlights usefulness application precipitation not limiting factor yields, without differences among products.
